Visit Mooresville Presents Race City Open Inagural Skate Jam

April 11-12, 2025 | Mooresville, North Carolina

Mooresville, NC—Get ready for an action-packed weekend as Visit Mooresville partners with The Boardr Series, Stardust Skate Shop, and USA Skateboarding to present the Race City Open, a special edition of The Boardr Series. Taking place on April 11-12, this event offers a unique twist on the traditional Boardr Series stops with additional activities, an expanded schedule, and a larger prize purse. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or a first-timer, this event promises something for everyone!

  • Friday, April 11: 128 N Broad Street, Mooresville, NC

  • Saturday, April 12: Mooresville Skate Park, 748 West Iredell Avenue, Mooresville, NC

Event Highlights

  • Unique Competitions: Featuring Line Contests, Bowl Contests presented by the US Performance Center, Street Best Trick Contests, and Head-to-Head Races.

Schedule of Events

Friday, April 11 – Downtown Mooresville

  • 4:00 PM: Open Skating

  • 6:00 PM: Qualifiers and Open Session (selected skaters compete against invited skaters)

  • 6:30 PM: Line Contest (3 runs; best counts; judged on difficulty and speed)

  • Post-Contest: Head to East for an art show.

Saturday, April 12 – Mooresville Skate Park

  • 8:00 AM: Registration and Open Practice

  • 10:00 AM: Bowl Contest (Divisions: Women’s, Men’s 12 & Under, Men’s 13 & Up, Open)

  • 12:00 PM: Street Best Trick Contests (15-minute jams on obstacles like Mini Plaza and Double Set)

  • 3:00 PM (Approx.): Awards Break followed by Head-to-Head Races (free entry; max 8 skaters per division).

Prizes and Awards

Line Contest

• Top 3 Cash Prizes: $300 (1st), $200 (2nd), $100 (3rd)

• Additional Cash for Tricks: $250

Bowl Contest (Presented by US Performance Center)

• Trophies and Prize Packs for Top 3 in each division.

• Open Division Cash Prizes: $300 (1st), $200 (2nd), $100 (3rd).

Street Best Tricks

• Trophies and Prize Packs for Top 3 in each division.

• Open Division Cash Prizes: $1,000 (1st), $750 (2nd), $500 (3rd).

• Extra Cash for Tricks: $500.

Head-to-Head Races

• Trophies, Prize Packs, and $100 for first place in each division.

Judging Criteria

Competitions will be judged on their overall impression based on creativity, commitment, use of the course, speed, style, flow, power, and difficulty. Most importantly, have fun!
