The Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCVB) is seeking photos that illustrate the lifestyle, beauty and attractions of Mooresville, North Carolina. Three main categories are listed below, but creativity is encouraged and weekly flash prizes will be awarded!
Nature & Outdoors: Scenic shots of Lake Norman and wildlife from any time of the year. Action shots of people of all ages swimming, enjoying watersports, biking, hiking, fishing, boating, etc.
Hangouts: Favorite places to hang out, like the lake, animal parks, coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, Main Street and downtown. Action shots of people enjoying these places are always good. Find a list of our main attractions.
Events: We want to see people having fun at our great events, such as the Food Truck Festivals, LangTree Live, concerts, sporting events, and more!
First Place Prize: $500

Who May Enter
The contest is open to any amateur or professional photographer over 18 years old. If under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian must enter on your behalf.
All photos must be taken in Mooresville, North Carolina or at attractions in close proximity, such as Lake Norman State Park, Zootastic Park, Lazy5 Ranch, or Davesté Winery.
Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau (MCVB) employees, their immediate family members, and people living in their households are ineligible.
How To Enter
Submit your entries via social media! Simply post a photo on your Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter feed, and use the hashtag #CVBMVL. That’s it! Once you use the hashtag #CVBMVL, your photo is entered! (YOUR ACCOUNT MUST BE A PUBLIC ACCOUNT FOR US TO SEE THE PHOTOS. For those who don’t have social media accounts, have private accounts, or prefer not to enter that way, you can enter by uploading your photo via the form here.)
Photos will be accepted from October 15, 2022 at 8 a.m. EST to November 13, 2022 at 5 p.m. EST.
By submitting a photo, you agree that your entry complies with the Official Rules.
By submitting a photo, you agree that the photo can be shared and promoted across MCVB websites, social media accounts, and other advertising mediums.
Photos must be taken by the entrant and be the property of the entrant.
Photos must comply with all applicable laws.
Photos that are obscene, defamatory, sexually explicit, or inappropriate will be disqualified at our discretion.
Photos must have been taken within three years of entry into this contest.
Photos may not have been published previously for monetary payment.
Only minor editing of a photo is acceptable. Extensively edited photos will be ineligible.
Prizes
• 1st Place: $500 Visa gift card and their winning photo displayed on the Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau website (visitmooresville.com) and in the Visitors Guide.
• 2nd Place: $300 Visa gift card and the opportunity to have their winning photo displayed on the Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau website (visitmooresville.com) and in the Visitors Guide.
• 3rd Place: $150 Visa gift card and the opportunity to have their winning photo displayed on the Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau website (visitmooresville.com) and in the Visitors Guide.
We will alert winners via their social media account (or by email for those who enter on the website) by November 16, 2022. To receive prizes, winners must complete additional forms within 30 days. If winners don’t claim their prize or complete the required forms, we may select an alternate winner.
Prizes may not be transferred.
Judging
Our judges, at their sole discretion, will make 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place selections based on the quality, composition, content, originality, creativity, and mass appeal. Decisions are final. Only winners will be notified of the outcome. Winning entries will be posted at visitmooresville.com on November 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. EST.
Other Very Important Information
All entrants grant to Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, distribute, display, modify, and create derivative works of any photo entered in the contest in any current or future media or on any merchandise without compensation or approval.
By submitting a photograph to Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau you warrant that you are the owner of the image, that you alone own the copyright, and that you have obtained any necessary third-party releases. If your photograph is selected as a winner of the contest, you may be asked to submit a personal release.
For winning photos that contain an identifiable person(s), you must submit to us a release signed by the person(s) (or their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) ) that they have agreed to the use of their photo for MCVB purposes. Release forms can be found here.
We may terminate or modify any part of the contest at any time for any reason.
We may disqualify anyone who violates these Official Rules.
All entrants agree to release and hold harmless Mooresville Convention & Visitors Bureau and its agents from all claims related to the contest.
