If you are looking for a fun day-trip from Mooresville, consider hitting the trail. The wine trail, that is. You can choose from the I-77 trail, which takes you north of Mooresville into the foothills, or the I-85 trail, which meanders east of Lake Norman. Each trail is an easy day’s drive, with time to enjoy each vineyard or winery.

Of course, we have Lake Norman State Park right in our backyard, which offers more than 30 miles of trails as well as swimming, kayak and canoe rentals, and fishing (with a valid license).
